He graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.F.A in Film and Television Production. As a half Black/half Chinese filmmaker, his work looks to explore the intersectionality of history, race, and masculinity with a touch of magical realism. Which is a more pretentious way of saying he enjoys identity pieces that not only examine the individual but the time in which they operate.

His short films have screened at international festivals such as LA Shorts, Indie Short Fest, Filmquest, Austin Film Festival, .MOV Film Festival, and USC First Look.

As a freelancer, he has extensive professional experience working for major institutions such as Participant Media, HOOKED, and Amazon. More recently, he worked as apart of the Programming Team for the 2021 Tribeca Festival.

That film, 'Limelight', was a finalist in First Look, USC’s prestigious industry showcase, premiered at the 2020 Urbanworld Film Festival, and was named one of the top ten films to stream at this year’s National Film Festival for Talented Youth by Directors Notes. Shortly after, she began work as the Director’s Assistant on 'Searching 2', where she shadowed and worked closely with the movie's two directors. She is currently developing and directing a new Youtube Series for Jubilee Media.

From an early age, Claire recognized how harmful many movies were to her own self-image when she rarely saw stories with characters like herself. In high school, however, Claire found directing and along with it, a goal of ensuring that all women never failed to see themselves on the screen. Claire hopes to continue writing and directing female-centered dramas that are always infused with a slight touch of humor.
